A glimpse into our week of activities at the Rocket Mortgage Classic!

Monday – Youth Golf Clinic

We had the opportunity to attend the Youth Golf Clinic on Monday evening presented by The Children’s Foundation! The event featured PGA Pros Cameron Champ, a First Tee Alum, Doc Redmon, and Joseph Bramlett!

Our very own Larry Burns, CEO of The Children’s Foundation, kicked off the event!

The Pros walked the kids through some of their own practice routines with driving and chipping!

Our participants were all smiles!

Our Chapter got a huge surprise when our BIRDIE Participant Ben Mayor picked Cameron Champ to win the long drive competition … and he won! We received a $2,000 donation! Thank you!!!!

Tuesday – Putting Clinic

On Tuesday afternoon, a small group of our participants had the chance to attend a putting clinic with Webb Simpson and Brendon Todd! They took the time to show the kids how to stand, hold their putter, read the greens, and swing. They also gave the kids some simple drills to try next time they practice!

Tuesday – 313 Celebrity Scramble

Our parent-partner The Children’s Foundation, had the opportunity to participate in the 313 Celebrity Scramble. Due to the heavy rain that fell earlier in the day, our participants Ben & Irving weren’t allowed to walk inside the ropes with US Open winner Phil Mickelson. The event still took place with lots of fun to be had! Team The Children’s Foundation!

Ben and Irving were able to meet Tom Izzo!

Such an amazing group of PGA Pros, LPGA Pros, winners of first The John Shippen, up and coming golf pros, local sports influencers and more!

Thursday – Sunday FanZone Tent

We had a great time during the tournament hanging out in the FanZone! We met so many new people, potential coaches, and future First Tee participants! We cannot thank our crew enough who came out and made this weekend a success!
