First Tee – Greater Detroit: ELITE
We’re excited to announce the launch of First Tee – Greater Detroit: ELITE! This is a new and exciting opportunity for current participants ages 13 – 18! The focus of this program is golf skill development, goal setting, and community service.
Qualifications:
- Score 63 or less on a nine-hole round of golf (yardage of 2,000 yards). Must upload a picture of a completed scorecard along with application.
- At least three programming sessions attended as a FT-GD participant.
- Be a current participant ages 13 to 18
- Volunteer to coach at least 5 classes during the summer session which will take place between July 8th and August 8th .
About the Class:
- During the spring, fall, and winter, the weekly classes will take place at our Durfee Innovation Society classroom, with a focus on golf skill development, career, and life skill enrichment, and developing service projects.
- The content of the programs will follow First Tee curriculum, but with a twist to cater to each participant and accelerate their development.
- During the summer, participants will earn valuable leadership and resume building experience while assisting coaches in program delivery.

- Durfee Innovation Society Classroom (2470 Collingwood St, Detroit, MI 48206)
Dates:
- Spring: May 13th, 20th, June 3rd, 10th, 17th
- Summer: Volunteering at Class, and PGA Jr. League Participation Optional (more info to come)
- Fall: August 19th, 26th, September 9th, 16th, 23rd
Time:
- 5:30 – 7:30 pm, Mondays
Cost:
- $100 for spring, $100 for fall
